Today was kind of a mixed day. The kind of day when several good things occured, but with its fair share of upsetting things, too.
The most upsetting thing today was finding out that MS HENG IS LEAVING! (as in RETIRING!) I even saw some Sec 1s and 2s cry. Believe me, i felt pretty choked up myself. Ms Heng cried, and one of the teachers went up onstage to give her a piece of tissue paper.
Oh wells. I'd just like to say that Ms Heng is probably the best principal SC has ever had, and i hope her successor will try and keep up with her standard!
After that, we had Music. Sang a couple of songs and watched the last group perform their music project. It was super cute ("Life is a Highway", from Cars)!
Break came and went. Then it was Art. i made my base (AGAIN. Remember how it fell apart last time?) and when i was glueing it together, along came Whouse and so i got her to press my bases together so they would stick properly. If anyone needs anything stuck together FAST, i reccomend Whouse! =) then Lisa and Sir Liebig showed me how to weave my basket, but after the first straw i felt too lazy, so i sat down on the floor talking to Binny Boo and helping her make straws to weave her basket.
I spent ten minutes of my recess eating and then Melli, Sir Liebig, AT, Whouse and I went up to the library to STUDY. the observant and FAITHFUL reader of this blog would notice that i din't mention Qinshi Rah. That's because she had Art Duty, and it takes up a LOOOONG time. i also snatched some postcards from the Library to use as bookmarks, to mark the important pgs for my History and Geography textbooks.
During English, Mr Teo gave us some pointers for that afternoon's English oral and handed out the class photographs. I AM SO STUPID, I SHOULD'VE ORDERED ALL THREE! You won't believe the amount of space Mrs Ballack took up. Oh, and Whouse, who cursed me ("You may kick the bucket tomorrow!")! I signed a lot of books, and somehow, my old reputation of me having big handwriting caught up with me, cos Trisha started asking me to sign her book in TINY handwriting.
Hey, it's not my fault that my handwriting is bigger than the average student's. It's just like that.
CE was switched to Maths, where Ms Marina went through some Algebra problems. At first, i paid attention, since i can't seem to get my head around Algebra probs, but after a while, i started to weave my basket with Binny Boo. haha. ;-) during that time, we had a little competition, and were separated into groups (according to our rows). Qinshi Rah went up for EVERY SINGLE QUESTION.
Oh well, we always knew the girl was smart...
Once school was let out, the five of us raced to the canteen to chow down some snacks, and then we had to rush to Computer Lab 3, which was our holding room for EL Oral. By that time, i was getting nervous.
After an hour (and after playing "Heart Attack" with Mrs Ballack, Nibubu and Veve, plus surfing the net), my name was called and i picked up my bag (we had to lug our bags with us EVERWHERE) and sat down on the floor. Then we had to stand up, go outside and sit down again. Then we did the same thing again, except we moved to sit directly outside the hall, where the oral was being held.
At this point, my heart was beating really fast.
Then we went into the hall and were given 8 minutes to read the passage and look at the pic.
It was about family, lah. Nothing too difficult. the passage was about some person's Granfather amd the pic showed a family sitting together.
After 8 minutes, i went to the left side of the hall to the table that said "14" (that was my group no.). There was this teacher sitting there, and i had never seen her before, so i assumed that she was an upper sec. teacher.
Oral went OK... I mean, i read pretty well. EGO. Haha.
As for conversation, i blabbered some nonsense and a sob story. and the teacher kept making this sad face. like the corners of her mouth were pulled downwards.
Or maybe she just didn't like my blabbering.
oh wells.
When it was all over, i was like, "Thank you", picked up my bag, grabbed my HP and left the hall. i went downstairs, and, sitting outside the gym was Nat, Brit and Sha. So i talked to them for a bit before CherylF came down, and we started comparing our Oral details.
Then Cheryl dragged me to the P block to see who her tester was (she thought she was the form teacher of her class there) and i was moaning about how i just wanted to go and sit down.
then she gave me the evil eye and started saying something i already told her not to say.
so i shut up and followed her.
well, i'm beat.
tomorrow i shall blog about the play i saw today: Forbidden City:Portrait of an Empress.
Here's a review:
IT'S REALLY REALLY GOOD. A MUST-WATCH!!! =)))))))))))))))))))))
